This is the silliest, most nonsensical piece of garbage. It's filled with historical inaccuracies, dopey dialogue, and acting that would embarrass the cast of a soap opera. It makes North and South look like Faulkner. As a fan of Lost, I had some hope that this might be passably good when I saw Carlton Cuse's name, but that hope was sadly misplaced.
believe it or not hollywood doesnt make everything and hollywood isnt a giant corporation lol get off the god damn pessimist bandwagon.Go watch something you will enjoy if at all possible.
The last 10 mins of it really grinded my gears, so many stupid errors. for example the soldiers firing the rifles and missing, an then the guys on horseback firing there pistols and hitting. stupid.
if you don't like then don't watch, it's better than 90% of network trash, and it's got Riley Voelkel in it, i will watch it just for that, I COULD CARELESS about the history i will buy a book and read all about if i did care
Glad I'm not the only one who was disappointed with it. Also regarding historical inaccuracies, the girl's dresses only showed their boobs and I doubt that a belle of that time would have a dress with so much cleavage. Their acting was so poor :(
I watched hoping it would be better but it was pretty clichéd and bland. The whole freeing of the slaves make little sense how it was presented. There had to be some background to the decision and why the father just agreed. To make it more acceptable and believable to the viewer their really needed to me so more explanation of the decision was reached.
Americans will not like this show, its has so many errors, no wonder there's only 1 episode
The Southern accent's was way off.
One of the young female characters were handling the books, this is usually handle by the father or a educated house slave.
Th slaves spoken english were far too good, and not broken
Slaves were not allowed to have weapons one of them had a knife
The grass lawn is to perfectly cut and you can see the lawnmower tracks.
Their clothes even the slaves, were too clean, for that period of that time.
The women were far to tan and wearing make up it was the Victorian era, women of that time stayed indoors to keep their pale skin.
The women in the red dress the youngest sister spoke like a tavern whore.
The double barrel shotgun, I have seen dozens of civil war movies and never seen that gun before, even though it was invented in the late 1700 most American civil war movies never include it in their movies.
No racial slurs now thats a 100% inaccurate, I would understand if it was a Disney movie, but its not.
