this movie doesn't actually prove anything about prayer

It’s clear that the message of this movie is that prayer can solve problems but it doesn’t come anywhere close to actually proving it due to the simple fact that it’s just a movie. Tony didn’t get sick while he was on the date with that other woman because Elizabeth was praying. He got sick because the movie’s script called for him to get sick while Elizabeth was praying. Everything that happened in the movie as a result of Elizabeth praying was part of the movie’s script. How many thousands of real marriages have been broken up despite one of the spouses praying? How many real marriages have been broken up because the wife’s prayers couldn’t stop her husband from cheating?

Um, okay? But you could say the same thing about any movie ever made about anything.

How the heck could you say the same thing about any movie ever made about anything? How many movies are there in which the main character solves their problem exclusively by appealing to supernatural forces to use their power in a non-transparent manner? How many movies are there that don't involve any unseen supernatural forces that are in any way comparable to this movie?
