What's with all these Christian based films

Now I am a Christian, but I guess according to the movies I am not. I do not attend church ever (at least since I was 5, or have a christening or most marriages I go to), nor do I ever preach to anybody about gods words. I do believe that there is a god, but there's so much wrong with the Roman Catholic Church these days that I don't know what to think. The priests that touch kids is an epidemic all over the world (watch Spotlight). The people in America that are in the Bible Belt are kooks , and the gay bashing and bigotry that these pastors, and priests drone on about is just plain weird.
Now we have an explosion of Christian faith and themed films. They are everywhere, and many come out as big productions now. I mean they are making a "Gods not dead 2" lol. The films are always faith and prayer , as well as whomever is directing the films own personal values , and the acting, writing, and all things that make a film good are a distant 2nd. I think these movies deliver the wrong messages to people, and are not in the least sending the true word of God (whatever that means to people).
War Room was on Starz so I just watched it, and it was really bad. The Stars were motivational speakers, and the references to war that correlated to the faith in the movie was dumb. Please stop making these films like they are action movies nowadays. At least make a good one with good acting, and the right messages behind it.

There's an attitude among Christians that if you don't like their movies/TV shows/books/music, then you're not a real Christian. Just like if you don't believe every word of the Bible is literally true, you're not a real Christian.

They demand that everyone must like whatever garbage they spew forth.

The problem is that too many of them DO like these horrible movies, simply because they have Christian propaganda themes. There's no incentive to do better, because the producers of these things are making money off the gullible and uneducated "believers."

Being a Christian has a few basic requirements, and believing the Bible is indeed one of those basic requirements.

I was with you up until you stopped pointing out the evils of the catholic church. You lost me once you started to make seemingly anti-Christian and unsubstantiated statements like this:

The people in America that are in the Bible Belt are kooks

What do you mean by that, exactly?

Are you saying that people who believe the Bible are kooks?

What, exactly, is your criteria for what makes someone a kook?

From what source, exactly, did you acquire your criteria for what makes someone a kook?

are not in the least sending the true word of God

What you mean by that statement is also unclear.

In your opinion, what, exactly, is the true word of God?

In your opinion, what, exactly, are these films doing that makes them fail to deliver the true Word of God?

The Stars were motivational speakers

What's your point? That some of their acting is not the greatest because they are amateur actors? If that's your point, it is a valid one. But I overlook points like that because the Kendrick Brothers have made most of their films with amateur actors. Their main purpose is to promote God and the Bible, not to hire professional actors.

the right messages behind it.

You might already cover this answer when answering the questions I've asked you above, but in case you didn't...in your opinion, what are "the right messages," exactly?

It would be logical to assume that apparently these movies are making money in some sense which would indicate a demand for Christian films to be made. I personally liked this movie and would prefer to watch this over something like Spider Man or one of those Marvel Comic movies. Tastes in movies vary. If you don't like a film you have to the freedom to not watch it.

There was nothing in your message that tells me what makes you Christian. The word of God commands us to pray, congregate and have God in your mouth to teach others about Him. You didn't mention whether you believe in Christ as your saviour and that he died in the cross for you. If the case is you do not and your belief is generally a God but no face then you are just a believer in a higher being please do not call yourself CHRISTian

AMEN Being Christian, first and foremost, means acknowledgement of our sin, acceptance of God's conviction, and acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We are washed by his blood, shed so that we will have eternal life with our Father.
