THE ENDING MAKES NO SENSE

Why did they add that clip after the end credits where a girl was looking at Facebook. It didn't make any sense. The chick wasn't taking pictures when he put a shovel through her face.

What a lame film.

reply

that part thrown me off. should of least made the phone go off when he took the shovel.

reply

Who the hell thought that was a good idea???? I'm shocked.

reply

You can actually see her holding her phone in her hand when he does that though...
Also was mentioned because that her pictures automatically get updated, so its not totally off the wall that she had the phone in her hand and she took a picture

reply

[deleted]

No, she had her cell phone in her hand though, quite possible that she accidentally took the picture while getting a shovel in her face isnt it

reply

they should have made that more clear. also, why would she do that? and furthermore, if they had cell phone receiption (to send the pics), why would they not CALL for help?

reply

They also commented on this in the film... they said it would eventually get through whereas a call wouldnt connect... seriously die either of you actually watch the film?

reply

ah, thanks. sadly yes.

well then, so the phone takes pictures since the very start, every 2 minutes, starting from the beginning of the trip and then until the body gets moved to a place where there is actually cell phone receiption, at which point the phone simply shuffles over like what? 300 GB of pics through the cell phone net, which of course does not extend the phones memory, and the chick on her ipad, accidently out of 5000 pics stumbles upon the gory bits? fantastic. xD

reply

no, its more likely that due to having an effing shovel rammed in her face she hit the picture button because the phone was in her hand... earlier in the movie she mentions that even with the bad reception the photos will eventually automatically be uploaded

it really isnt very complicated

reply

I guess the phone is fireproof.

reply

hahaha. yeah, that as well.

reply

"it really isnt very complicated"

looks like you depserately want to defendend this nonsense. well, good for you ... i guess.

"no, its more likely that due to having an effing shovel rammed in her face she hit the picture button because the phone was in her hand... earlier in the movie she mentions that even with the bad reception the photos will eventually automatically be uploaded "

so, you ask someone to kill you by beheading yourself and your first thought is "ey, that would make a fine facebook picture"?

reply

No she accidentally took the picture obviously... *sigh*
there is no arguing with idiots

reply

"No she accidentally took the picture obviously... *sigh* "

yeeah, she accidentally takes the phones, holds it toards the dude she asks to kill her and then ... whoops... takes a pic, which as is totally normal, as well as a phone that is set to send everything to facebook that has been recorded up to the point when cell phone coverage is available.

oh and let's not forget that the phone is fireproof, as the other guy pointed out.

"there is no arguing with idiots"

obviously... *sigh*

as i have stated before, she has the phone in her hand (she didnt accidentially pick up the phone or hold it towards him it was already in her hand) as previously mentioned in the film the pictures automatically get updated.

the only issue is whether or not there was enough time for the picture to get sent before the place got set on fire, and as we know the connection in that area only works sometimes, its possible that it worked that time, so we can just assume that the connection was working for that brief period

"as i have stated before, she has the phone in her hand (she didnt accidentially pick up the phone or hold it towards him it was already in her hand) as previously mentioned in the film the pictures automatically get updated. "

and as i already mentioned, you would not keep that phone in your hand, when you ask someone to cut your throat with a shovel…

"the only issue is whether or not there was enough time for the picture to get sent before the place got set on fire,"

i understand, that you desperate want this to make sense, but as we already agreed on, there was no cellphone coverage. it's not like that miraculously changes within a 2 feet radius.

"the connection in that area only works sometimes, its possible that it worked that time, so we can just assume that the connection was working for that brief period"

in that case, they would try harder to get receiption, once people started dying. so, in your world this is the only time that miraculously not only did the receiption work, but it worked long enough to send everything that has been recorded so far? it was sent to facebook and the chick at the end saw multiple pictures, so all the stuff had to be uploaded. if the other pics were transfered before, people would have sent help.

look, i understand that you love this film, but there is nothing wrong with admitting that it has logical problems.

Makes sense to me ,I have accidently taken photos plenty of times when I have a phone in my hand while doing other things like pushing kid on swings ,I don't get why you think it is so unlikely for someones hand to clench on the phone .Also I have sent and recieved texts hours or days later because of bad reception

reply

My god. Cant believe people are defending this stupid credits scene.

reply

I think it was a metaphoric social commentary on millennials' need to take photos of everything they are doing, even if in very inappropriate/uninteresting moments, and post it on social networks.

You're right. There is no point in arguing with you.

So you're saying she took a picture of him as he was about to ram a shovel into her face? You're making excuses for idiocy, pal.

I think most of the people who don't understand how a call wouldn't go through versus the pictures eventually uploading are not from remote areas with terrible cell coverage. When I visit my parents or in-laws, I can send texts and they will EVENTUALLY get delivered, but it may take hours for them to go through. However, I cannot make phone calls, the call will simply die before it even rings. So that part of the pictures being uploaded is entirely plausible.

As for her taking it, I think enough examples have been given where it can easily happen too. Is it silly? Yes, but it's an f'ing horror movie, please get over your incessant need to tear everything down and enjoy a film.

reply

Not even defending the movie (the original is better imo) but she had her phone in her hand when the dog got in the shed and was eating her so it's not out of the questoon that she took one of him accidentally when he tried to decapitate her.

I take pictures by accident all the time on my hands or pocket.

There are plenty of plot holes (how did the dog get in the shed? how did the crazy guy survive submerged in the water? Why did Winston let a heavily infected guy walk free but shoot one who looked absolutely fine?) but I don't think this was one.

reply

I don't know but Winston still killed him in a way....she let him get lost in the forest knowing he would never find his way back.....at the end, he's screaming you tricked me, blah blah blah...and his corpse was found by one of the bunny people (psycho in rabbit mask)

Personally I think this scene explains why the deputy got the call from the sheriff about the kids on a killing spree.

How and why the picture is a little more difficult to explain.

reply

That's a great connection to make. And I heard all the uploading pix dialog so it makes much more sense.
