What's with Henriette's sparkly hair? (SPOILERS)

In the episode where Henriette goes to visit her brother, the English king, she's wearing an ornamental headpiece that I think is supposed to be seen as catching the light and sparkling, but instead it looks like it's some kind of flashing, battery-operated gadget that pulses with light. She's wearing it again in the scene where her body is lying in state - and the bodice of her dress is similarly decked out. I just have to laugh every time I see it. I realize that there's a ton of sun symbolism in this drama about Louis XIV, the Sun King, and things are lit accordingly, but this is just so out of place. Thoughts?
