How did Henrietta die?

If she complained about side pain for awhile, how could it be poison? Unless she was being poisoned over a period of time? Then her daughter apparently had the same problem. It sounds like some sort of gallbladder problem or some sort of genetic problem. Very curious. It's interesting that back then they really only had guesses as to how people died. Must have been risky to be a doctor.

In "real life" Henrietta died from peritonitis which was caused by a perforated ulcer.

Thank you. I was assuming poisining by some sort of fungus but peritonitis does make sense.
