Plot hole? (Spoilers)

After the bombing of 'Compound 6' the attack comes to an halt.

Does this mean that:

1. the Talibans were killed after the bombing?
If so, their bodies should have been found at the compound with their guns, giving accuracy to the commander's version: that they were being attacked from 'Compound 6'

2. If they weren't at that compound
Why didn't they continued the attack?

2a. Let's say they weren't at the compound and just ended the attack because got scared by the bomb. In this case, when they were pulling back, they should have been spotted by the remaining soldiers outside of the village.

Any alternate ideas?
or is just an error of the story?

Come on aabonce, think man!

1. If they were at the compound then the militants' bodies would have been removed because: even terrorists bury their dead, or they simply wanted to remove evidence of their presence and cause trouble for coalition forces (hiding among civilians and then denying it while accusing opposing forces of murdering the innocent is an extremely common jihadi tactic, often referred to as "trial by media").

2. They thought "oh *beep* they killed civilians! well they're screwed ergo we win. Let's go home boys and *beep* a goat!"

2a. They could have waited until nightfall to leave discreetly, or perhaps even do so right after the battle in plain sight since the good guys had limited resources and can't have eyes everywhere at once. A firefight could take place with hundreds of yards between the belligerents.

If you watch docs on the subject and read news, it seems that events such as the one that takes place in the movie were quite common. Hence "the fog of war" you often hear about.

We're baffled too. Furthermore, no evidence is provided to prove that the civilians were killed by the bombs. They could have been killed beforehand so the Taliban could use their compound to stage their attack. After all, the first family is already dead when the Danes arrive and the Taliban probably knew the Danes had promised to come help them. Loved the first half, but the second half? Not so much...

...taken by British Military Police, turned over to Danish MP, and from there to the Court.

I don't think that this was a plot hole as much as an intended ambiguity...I believe that shots were coming from compound 6...but the Taliban removed their own dead after the Danish Soldiers left...again, a fairly common set up with Guerrilla forces.

I thought this was a terrific movie...there are many things we don't know...just like real life.

I think it was deliberately ambiguous, but I also think that was a bad choice, artistically.

It is possible that the bombing of compound 6 wasn't where the militants were, but the bombing was enough for the militant fighters to decide on a strategic retreat.

Someone else on this thread also posed a plausible scenario in which the militants had already killed the civilians in the compound to begin with, although the photos seemed to suggest that the civilians were killed not from gunfire, but from the aerial bombardment.
