Why is this movie being filmed in New Mexico instead of, idk... FRIGGIN YARNELL

Does it even matter where it's filmed? They filmed The Revenant in Argentina and Canada, not even in the States, who cares! They filmed Rumble in the Bronx in.... guess what, Vancouver. No where near the Bronx, but who gives a *beep*

Why not Yarnell? Because Yarnell burned up. hth

Yea they lost a lot of houses in the fire, but they've rebuilt what was destroyed since then. And all the plants have grown back like 3 times as thick.

Because NM has a tax-credit system for filmmakers that Arizona doesn't. I was just an extra in a bar scene with all the main cast. It was fun.

Yep. They're filming in and around Santa Fe, NM. I drove up three hundred miles to do a couple days. Got to hear Jeff Bridges sing a country song in the same bar he sang in in Crazy Heart, Josh Brolin and Jennifer Connelly were there, pretty wild!

it's a definite change in story for the director,to go from sci fi to this,hopefully it'll be as visually arresting as oblivion and tron

Agreed. His visuals married to something that might normally be shot in a more conventional way could result in something unique.
