Too much humor (Spoilers)

It felt like they were trying to combine an action comedy movie with a Predator movie.And it came off feeling like a pedestrian popcorn action flick.The CGI dogs were just dumb and added nothing to the movie.And the ending was brain numbingly idiotic.I'm suppose to believe that the U.S. government let a 10 year old boy be part of a covert military project about aliens.Or that his father who went awol and killed a crapload of covert operatives would be allowed to head that project.
