What was the point of that? If you're gonna get her naked for some sex appeal...at least make it worth it.
She was technically naked but you don't see anything anyway. It was such a dry and boring scene with the scientist. About as sexy as a visit to the dentist.
Only to set it up for later when she is spared by the predator? Something that is never addressed afterwards. They never try this again; to slowly advance naked towards it to hug it into being their friend and stop "saving" everyone to death.
Oh you don't have to remind me, don't worry. When i wanna watch porn, i watch porn.
When i wanna see a predator movie...i get this half assed excuse for a naked scene. The movie was the one that tried to combine them but it was so lame that even a teenager would have trouble finding anything exciting in it.
I'm trying to have a discussion about a part of this movie on a website dedicated to doing that. Why are you here if you don't want to do that? Aren't there other places where you could be a passive aggressive douchebag?
Yea I thought that scene was contrived. I mean the script deliberately forces her to remove her clothes.. The idea being that the computer was smart enough to block her from entering decontamination cause it detected her clothing was still on but was so dumb that it ignored the firealarm. And when she was naked the camera kept forcefully moving her nudity out of frame with bulbous closeups of her face and shoulders. The script seemed unrealistic and the camera movements as well. Its like the script and the camera were fighting with each other.
Oh i didn't even think about the fire alarm. Can you imagine a real fire burning the whole place to the ground while naked scientists slowly exit two at a time? As far as i can recall, there was only room for 2 at a time anyway.
I guess it makes sense to force them to do it and probably kill them instead of risking exposing the world to some virus.
Don't feed the trolls. But your right the script and the cinematographer seemed to be in conflict during that scene. I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw it.
but the director wanted to see her naked. If this was not the point, then you have a point, but the director would not see her naked then and so... a naked scene it became, hidden from the cameras. Boss wins.
Of course I am partly joking, but why did the script call for her to be naked when the camera did not grant us this with? The only one's who benefited were those on the set, I guess is all I am saying.
My guess is it was supposed to be a brief nude scene but the marketing people opted out since catering action films to females is the new norm these days. IE the decision to cut the nude scene was done late and the script wasn't reworked. Typically if you cut a nude scene the idea is to rework the script so that the scene is not needed that way it doesn't look like the camera was forced away from the nudity which is what we saw in this film.
For example in promethrues alot of people don't remember but Charlize Theron was originally doing her pushups nude and we saw her breasts in the trailer but by the time the movie came out she was wearing those gauze underwear. The production had half a year to patch the script to change the scene. The predator still had the need to remove all clothing before going into the lab that should have been taken out altogether to make the camera work more plausable.
