I feel sorry for these people

From the dry, baked Christmas scenery, to the married cheating Armenian giving a BJ to a black transsexual in a car wash, to the trashy scenes of giving a middle-aged male a HJ in an old VW Passat.

It is a depressing, joyless, trashy, classless movies reeking of hopelessness.

Whatever problems I have in life are nothing compared to this.

Not very original, but 'We accept the love we think we deserve.' Brilliant.

Just because it makes you uncomfortable and you have trouble finding empathy for these characters doesn't mean people don't go through this kind of stuff every day.

I can't tell if you liked this movie or not. You are basically saying that the problems these people have are not like yours but worse. Does that mean you feel empathy for them or you are looking down at them because their lives are much tougher than yours and they are basically beneath you? I don't think viewing other people's realities and finding it depressing makes for a bad film. It tries to expand your mind to put yourself in other people's shoes and that's not a bad thing at all. Avoiding films like these and staying sheltered against the real world just breeds ignorance in my opinion.
