Should have known better

Why, oh why, did I come to this board to see whether I could learn more about this charming little short with its hypnotic song? Should have realized that even something as sweet and innocent as this would bring out snark and sourness.

I just saw this for the first time on DVD with a five-year-old girl, so maybe I was partially seeing it through her eyes. (After all, this and Inside Out are aimed at kids.) But I found the story imaginative, the animation OK, and the song fun to sing, so much so we watched it twice. I'm pretty allergic to manipulative schmaltz, and this was nowhere near that level. Admittedly, the heart motifs were unnecessary.

And yes, I know these are open forums for all opinions, not just a place for fans to gush. But really, some people need to take themselves less seriously.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.
