Where would Aaliyah be today

If she were still alive? Tons of people think she would have been in Beyoncé's spot or something but I've just never seen it - not in the 90s and not now. I'm not saying she wasn't talented, but would there be this huge fuss over her if she were still alive?

I don't think Beyonce would have been as big if aaliyah was alive. Aaliyah had that humble attitude, not the bow down stay out my way attitude Beyonce gives off. I really think she would have been in a huge spot light, plus she was dating Dame they would have been the Beyonce Jay z. I honestly don't see the hype in Beyonce but like i said her ego always got me to not be into her.

She's really not as egotistical as you'd think. I'm not HUGE on her but her documentary "Life is but a Dream" (it's on youtube) is really really good. That whole "back off" vibe you're getting is her finally being able to be grown and take care of her own business.

Honestly, I disagree. Aaliyah was and will always be Hovas muse. The whole Bonnie and Clyde crap was theirs before Beyonce came around. Y'all need to turn on "More than a Woman" to understand this. Bonnie and Clyde by Hova and Beyonce is a huge disrespect to Aaliyah. Hova and Aaliyah secretly referred to themselves as this. "More than a Woman" is about Hova. This is how the transition worked. Hova was always the third wheel in the Dame and Aaliyah relationship. Aaliyah left Hova for Dame but was still caught up in both webs. Hova moved over to Beyonce. Beyonce at the peak of Aaliyah was trying to leave DC and go solo. Hova was her ticket out and he projected what he wanted for Aaliyah on Beyonce. Beyonce was always seen very fake and phony towards Aaliyah in their interactions. She was seemingly very jealous. The year Aaliyah died, Beyonce filmed Carmen, which is more or less a film taking a piss on Aaliyahs life. I've always blamed these two for her death.

I feel with the hella success Timbo has always had she would've been safe and secure with her music career. Nelly Furtado after Aaliyah passed on was Timbos subconscious way of compensating his loss by exploding her career as her producer. With Missy and Timbo as Aaliyahs Godparents in the music rhelm... come on now?

After Hova and Beyonce secured their lives as the Dame and Aaliyah couple in the Urban industry... Kanye became the Hova and acts later with compulsive and erratic behaviours towards Beyonce. There have been rumours circulating the Urban Music community that before Kim there was a huge 'tripod' going on with Kanye, Hova, and Beyonce. They all used to get with each other. Kanye wasn't keeping things streamlined and showed too much infatuation and obsession towards the King and Queen of ROC. Their handlers are the reason why Kanye's image spun in a spiral downwards after the laughable Taylor Swift and Kanye West at the Mtv VMA's. You can clearly see he's hanging on to his compulsion with Beyonce.

If you're wondering who my sources are. I've been around a lot of heavy weight producers between Detroit and Toronto who have had their hands in all sorts of pots working with these acts. You'd be surprised how many artists out there don't realise their studio sessions aren't all unheard and left unrecorded.

Assuming all of what you say is true (even though I respectfully disagree about everything you've stated, I don't care to counter it) why is it that you could possibly blame Beyonce and Jay Z for Aaliyah's death?? You think they hired that trifling pilot or something?

It's tough to say exactly how successful she would be if she were alive today. Keep in mind, it's been 13 years since her death. I believe that like many artists who's careers started in the 90's, her music career would have peaked at this point by 2014.

Also, keep in mind that at the time of her death in 2001, her third studio album, the self titled "Aaliyah", was under performing compared to her two previous albums and soundtrack hits. It was only after her tragic death, that the "Aaliyah" album's sales began to take off, upon which the album hit #1 on the charts.

It's difficult to say how successful she would be today, however, I do believe she would have had a solid career in the early to mid 2000's.

By the time she died Aaliyah's star was already fading. I remember she was promoting her last album on 106&Park and her performance was luke warm at best which was telling.

I imagine her career would've peaked before 2003 especially since September 11th happened shortly after her death when her album was to be released. That tragedy put so much on the back burner in the US.

Love is a losing game. One I wish I never played.

Me either. I am a fan of Aaliyah but I'm objective. She was a good dancer and all but nowhere near the level of someone like Ciara. Her music was good at the time because it was the hottest thing out in r&b dance. There weren't many other female r&b dance artist for her to compete with besides Janet Jackson. That's why she was so successful. Sad to say but Aaliyah's career would have taken a massive plunge in this day and age. Brandy couldn't even win with Aphrodisiac in 2004. Imagine Aaliyah then. She was never into being trashy sexy like Rihanna and Nicki Minaj and never could get down and grind like Ciara. More than likely she would have been acting and having major success in that and maybe having a lucrative secondary career with her own fashion/cosmetics/hair line.

I think she would have ended up on the real housewives of Atlanta or perhaps a vh1 show like TI and Tiny

I think she would've taken acting more seriously and focused on that (I think she was up for a few more movies, with the remaining Matrix sequels being some of them before her death) and put music on hold for a bit. I'm sure she would've gone back to music but considering how her third album was under performing before her death, she would have found more success in movies.

I really like Aaliyah and her music. She just seemed so real, beautiful inside and out. But to be honest, I don't think she would be a legend or be as famous as Beyonce internationally. For her sake and the fans, it's probably better that way I guess because most of the time they change their music because it would be a different target audience.

I usually hate convos like this. Because you never know and to say that she would bigger than this person is silly to me. I think she would have started also doing more movies as well. I remember that she didn't want to do a third album, her record label wanted that.

I think her career would have hit some highs and lows like every other artist. I think we would have definitely seen her get involved with more acting.

She had such a sweet and likeable personality, I think talent reality shows would have been interested in her. Maybe she would have ended up on a show like "The Voice" as either a coach or an advisor. This would have kept her relevant in music.

Maybe in the 2000s, her music career would have stalled (which would have been why she would've been doing more acting). She would have had a big musical comeback in the 2010s though. I think of Timbaland's recent comeback with Justin Timberlake--you can hear so much Aaliyah influence in some of JT's new music. Aaliyah would have cashed in on that, maybe even collaborated (I think JT has said he was a fan of hers). In fact, remember the remix of JT's "Until the End of Time" with Beyonce? No doubt it would have been a duet with Aaliyah, which would have sounded better. Beyonce doesn't sound right on that track to me, but Aaliyah would have been perfect. JT is no power vocalist and neither was Aaliyah, so their voices would have matched and complimented each others much better.

Aaliyah would have been highly sought for collaborations among male singers and rappers looking for soft vocals to compliment their songs. I think we would have seen collaborations with Drake, Chris Brown, Frank Ocean, August Alsina, Kendrick Lamar, J-Cole, Miguel, and the list goes on.

Can't believe a guy said she would end up on housewives ? Talk about clueless !
She was more interested in acting, and her acting career was taking off so I think she would have been doing okay if she wasn't the biggest singer. The Matrix films would have gave her Huge Exposure!
