Why wasn't the role offered to Lolita Price, the Aaliyah look alike?

If you guys don't know who she is or what she looks like then youtube her, Lolita Price, she looks more like Aaliyah than Keisha Chante. She won the Aaliyah look alike contest. I don't know if they did offer her the part and she turned it down in respect of her family or if they even considered her. I think she may be in her early 30's, but she could have pulled this off way better than the girl who played Aaliyah. She's also an actress and sings. I thought that was the whole point of her winning the national Aaliyah look alike contest so she could eventually play Aaliyah.

Lolita "auditioned" but the casting director was strongly against her. Lolita made it seem as though she didn't audition out of respect for the family, but she sent in her audition tape and everything. It wasn't good acting and naturally, she doesn't embody Aaliyah. Inside information.

Lolita Price has a similar face in some scenarios... but seriously?? Have you seen a full body picture of her? She is too heavy to play Aaliyah. Aaliyah was super tiny and petite. Not to mention, I've seen Lolita try and portray her... IMO, it's forced acting from a fan. Kudos for trying tho.
