Aaliyah was overrated.

While she seemed very down to earth, I think her musical talent was somewhat questionable. Her vocals always sounded strained and restrictive and her performances were lackluster. I've always thought this about her even before she died.

Can't argue. Her looks got her over.

While I liked her , I always preferred Brandy over her.

She was better than many solo artists out today, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, etc. Just because you didn't care for her does not make her overrated.

I agree. She was definitely not the princess of r&b. She had a few good songs.

I've always loved her music and her voice. Don't know what you've been listening to. Are u describing Aaliyah or the actress playing her?

reply

Aaliyah was awesome. I loved almost all of her songs, and she had her own style that was unique at the time. She was an incredible dancer, she had a great personality, and she was fun to watch. She was also a good actress and had incredible potential, and her inner and outer beauty is not found so much today in R&B stars.

Aaliyah could sing if you actually listened to her whole album and her star search audition. Most of her radio hits featured her unique singing style which was soft and gentle. That was HER style. She didn't need to belch to prove she could sing.

She could NOT sing that well...
