NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!

At first I thought I was having a hideous nightmare, and after failing to awaken after repeatedly pinching myself I thought my laptop had been infected by a virus when I saw this movie being made, but no - this is real!

I LOVE low-budget, indie movies, but Witch Graveyard was the very worst movie I've ever seen. It was along the lines of Manos, but without any of the charm that movie had. Even The Room had value for making you laugh at the script and acting.

They're making a sequel to Witch Graveyard?????

I repeat - NNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My understanding is this is more a remake than a sequel. It was (and I guess it still is) popular enough that this time they got a bigger budget and there will be another one after this.

Personally, didn't think it was that bad. Slow yes, but not the worst I've seen. Some scenes, especially in the first half I liked.

LOL - I can't believe someone actually replied to my post. But you got me curious enough (being popular and not the worst that you've seen) that I will watch it again to see if I missed something. But I do appreciate your replying - thanks and have a good one!

Seriously, Thank You! Was updating info on Return and discovered this post.

The first Witch did in fact do okay. The first month it was available on demand it got about a thousand rents/downloads. Despite mostly bad reviews, it still renting okay. I know I don't have to tell you these things, but like I always tell my cast/crew: I've got nothing to hide. Every no-budget movie out there has bad reviews, it comes with the territory.

Witch also has aired on a new(ish) site streaming indie Horror movies and it is available on a slightly different version: "Witch Bitch" (this one has gotten some rentals as well). And it did have a theatrical showing locally along with other local films.

And yes, it is an in-name only sequel and yes, there will be a third Witch movie called "Legend of the Witch Graveyard" - some scenes have already been filmed as it will follow the events of Return.

I know I probably overshared, but got all excited to discover people talking about the new Witch movie :-)

On the whole i enjoyed Witch Graveyard not only because it was an attempt at a different kind of horror film that didn't rely on blood and nudity but because of its supernatural elements and the twist ending. I thought it was interesting that the original film left a couple of doors open.

Even though the sequal won't be a direct one i believe it will make a refreshing change, be even more entertaining and deliver in any necessary areas in order to make it more successful.

Looking forward to the release of Return to Witch Graveyard and the final part of the trilogy soon after!
