Kind of Misses the Mark

So, I am watching the "Ice" episode and, so far, it feels like he's talking to a child. "Ice is just water!" "I have a kitchen knife at home!" I feel somewhat insulted by watching the show.

Plus, he tosses out "facts" that don't seem like they are true. He even says things like, "Maybe we should fact check that."

The whole thing just seems half-assed.

I mean, I get that it is kind of a comedy. But, it's not funny enough for a comedy and not serious enough for a documentary or how-to show. It just doesn't know what it wants to be.

I watch it as a comedy, and enjoy it more that way. There are better ways of getting serious information than this show, this is something I watch to laugh.
Both of those quotes you mentioned were jokes. Everyone has a knife at home and therefore it's stupid to point out that you have a knife at home, that's the joke. The facts he tosses out are meant to be funny, too. Basically everything he says is meant as a joke, he's a professional comedian.
