Cinema sins generation of critics on here

Good lord you kids need to learn how to have fun. Is this movie retarded? Yep. Does it make sense 100% of the time? Nope. It doesn't have to, it's a supernatural horror comedy (intentional?). Is it fun and entertaining? Hell yeah, that third act is bonkers. It must be exhausting not being able to just sit back and enjoy a movie like this.

Savages...all of them.

100%

i thought this movie was a gd blast.

i can't remember the last time i had a good time with a film the way i did with this from the police lock-up scene onward.

There's a guy in this board who seems to have taken offense that James Wan tricked him to pull off a plot twist. Lmao

Dude probably got upset at the sixth sense too. "Bruce Willis totally had dinner with his wife.. m night is so dishonest!"

reply

Most people on here are sucking this movie off, what are you talking about?

reply

are you serious right now?

reply

It was OK imo. I thought the first half was a bore and then once we get to the police station it became hilarious and great. Loved the grotesqueness of Gabriel and the gory action sequences. It's certainly worth a watch, but I did find the first half of the film a struggle to get through.

reply

Agreed. That's my only major criticism. The movie doesn't kick it into high gear until the final act.

The movie should have billed itself as a horror comedy and not a conventional horror movie. People hate it not because they don't know how to have fun, but because they were misled by the trailer and the marketing.

It's like if at a restaurant, I order noodles. But instead they serve me spaghetti. I don't hate spaghetti but I'm not going to enjoy this spaghetti. Because I have spent all day looking forward to a bowl of noodles, and I have paid for a bowl of noodles.

It's the same here. If the movie is so unapologetically camp, it shouldn't have tricked paying customers by hiding this from them.

reply

Except it's not a horror comedy. This is on the level of Cabin in the Woods, or Drag Me to Hell.
