Graphics not that great?

I don't know what to make of the graphics, they look good, but also kinda not. The textures look muddy and lack clarity.

reply

It really depends on your setup, the graphics will be as good as your CPU, Graphics card etc. on Playstation and xbox it will decent and 60fps

reply

I've got an RTX 3080 coming next week.

reply

then you will have amazing graphics lol

reply

Up to a point. This is an huge open world. You're not gonna have the same graphics here than you have in games with small levels and maps.

reply

this game will disappoint

reply

nah

reply

It being in first person is already disappointing

reply

thats the only way to be!

reply

Wtf is the point of character creation then?
You can't even see yourself during 99% of the game.

reply

there is no point in it.
Although you can rest happy that all the other characters in the game are seeing the you that you designed :)

But first Person is best for fluidity and trasnsparency of the greatest control system ever invented - "mouse and Keyboard"

reply

I don't give a fuck what NPCs see or don't see, this doesn't even have multiplayer or coop to show off to others a.k.a real people.
Plenty of AAA 3rd person games work flawlessly with M&KB, your point?

reply

3rd person can be ok with m&kb , but its not quite as fluid , and less immersive imo
Gta san andreas - 3rd person m&kb done as well as can be
Gta 4 - fked it , to much animations , making for a slow clumsy drunk character.

why are you so keen to see what your character is wearing?

reply

I'm talking Batman Arkham knight and Shadow of the Tomb Raider style 3rd person. Free flowing combat, stealth takedowns, sneaking and weapon combos.

Otherwise, Cyperpunk is just another FPS shoot em up with fantasy elements.

reply

Cyberpunk is a RPG in a urban settings with FPS elements.

And it's not "another". Actually, it's a genre with barely any title. Games like GTA, Sleeping Dogs, Watch Dogs or Assassin's Creed share a urban open world, but they can't be properly considered as RPGs.

On the other hand, games like the Shadowrun franchise can be considered RPGs, but they are isometric or top-down, not first person or even third person.

reply

Hey did you ever play "Oni" (showing my age!)
now that was an awesome 3rd person game with legendary free flowing hand to hand combat and movement.
So much so that it spawned a whole cult following and mod scene.
The fans even wrote mod mgmt software to mangage and install all the mods!

Its pretty cyberpunky too!

reply

Unfortunately I haven't but looking at the gameplay I can immideately tell this is the thing I'm talking about lol.
Another forgotten game that I absolutely adored back in the day:
"Enter the Matrix"
Shooting mobs while running on walls. Bullet-time slow mo, melee combat, etc :D

reply

Actually i agree ... third person would have had a more "RPG" feeling ...

reply

3rd person is just a kid's game. 1st person is a life-simulator.

reply

And guess what: we are playing a game :P

RPG: role playing game. not life simulator. We just want to play that role ...

It's quite stupid to call a game "real life simulator", specially an rpg with this kind of thematic, nothing in the game is present in real life (like assigning points to skills).

reply

Whatever. I would rather feel like I am actually IN the setting of a game, not like I am playing with action figures.

reply

Some people will condone any kind of mediocrity in their media.
You're allowed to customize any character you want but you only see a floating gun or 2 arms.
Oh and btw, where's wall running?
Great job, DEVS!

reply

Its wonderful. a wonderful moment

reply

Originally ran it on a GTX 1080 at 1440p, but since December I've been running it on an RTX 3080 at 4K, with everything maxed out, even gave DLSS a try, as well as ray tracing, it's probably the most beautiful game I've ever played on PC. The cityscapes are incredible.

Kind of refreshing as it seems a lot of games out there put this unnecessary blur and depth of vision into their titles these days, I always disable that crap.
