Tell him the truth

What is Dorona's mother referring to when she says to Dorona "Tell him (Ricky) the truth" toward the end of the film.

That appears to be a loose end that the filmmaker forgot to get back to (maybe it was edited out?).

I came to IMDB exactly to find the answer to this question.... Argh. Maybe the truth is that she's pushing him away? Seems anti-climactic, if so...
