Q about the scene with Ella, etc. *Spoiler*

Sorry if this was previously discussed.

Can someone please tell me what Saul and the other prisoners from the camp are trying to smuggle? I know they said something about 'powder' but not sure what they're getting at ...

1.
What did Ella give him secretly, he put it in his back pocket then lost it on his way back to his bunker.

2.
How were they planning to use that stuff?

3.
Why did Ella had that stuff in her possession in the first place?

What is going on there?

This movie is literally blurry and dark , which I understand is done intentionally to make it more original .. but for cryin out loud, this makes it real difficult to understand what the heck is going on !?

She gave him gunpowder or some kind of explosive powder for the uprising to destroy one of the crematoria. It's based on a true event that happened in October of 1944. I think the women got the powder from a munitions factory they worked in during the day.

Thank you very much .. I will watch the movie a second time now that its more clear to me.

reply

You're welcome. I watched it twice, there is a lot that is easy to miss. I've seen another movie called, "The Grey Zone" that spells it out more clearly and I live in a city with a Holocaust museum so I knew about the uprising before watching this movie.

Thanks for suggesting "The Grey Zone" as well ..
I value Genicide/Holocaust movies and/or documentaries.

I just wish other historic atrocities get the kind of attention that the Jewish holocaust gets.

Let's not forget: Jews are NOT the first ones nor the last ones to suffer atrocities.

Peace.

reply

Of course.

Be well.

But they DO think the atrocities they 'suffered' trump (excuse pun) all the others.
