I was thinking after watching this movie that Gaspar Noe would be the perfect guy to portray the horror and anxiety that takes place within the walls of a deathcamp. Dont get me wrong i thought this movie was great. Just thought of it. What do u think?
shareI actually thought his filmmaking style mimicked Noe's a lot, except that it remained focused on the one character throughout the film and had the background slightly out of focus in order to ramp up the stress and the chaos of it. This film reminded me a lot of Enter the Void, except taking place inside a living hell.

I wouldn't let Noe anywhere near a film like this. Way beyond his capabilities. He should stick to porn. That's all he's good for.

shareI don't think there's room for improvement in the way the narrative was told.
But stylistically, the movie should be compared more to the storytelling of the brothers Dardenne, than anyone else.
If you don't know their work, and like "Son Of Saul", you're missing out on a lot.
I echo the words of others who say no to Gaspar Noe. He might be able to create atmosphere but he could not handle the emotions based upon two of his films that I've seen.

I don't think there's a better way to film it than Laszlo and Matyas achieved. One of the most immersive and realistic cinema experiences I've ever known.
I was undecided on Noe until Love .. Anyone who could pass half the scenes in that film is a hack .. Glorified porn director.
