Ive seen many holocaust movies. I struggled to get thru this one. I cant believe it won an oscar. Stupid story line..waste of time and money.
So many people disagree with you. I found it to be one of the most engrossing films i have ever seen. I think the trick was to see it in the theater to get that claustrophobic gut punch. Did you watch this on tv?

I had high expectations, I thought the premise was very interesting... and after ten minutes I lost all interest in this film and got bored of Saul looking desperately for a rabbi.
I watched the whole film (even I thought of giving up several times), but there was nothing that caught my attention or make me feel it was a good movie at all.
You can think I'm a moron, but that's my opinion. And for me this movie was unnecessary and pointless.
You just didn't get it, any of it, and if you are happy with that just move on to something that makes sense to you. Maybe one day you'll expand your sensibilities and be able to appreciate what was there, and if not, you always have your ignorant opinion.
