It has everything to do with money, not technology. The better you want it to look, the longer it takes to render, which means it costs more money.

And yes, the CGI looks absolutely awful. It might've been cutting edge 20 years ago, but now it's a far cry from good looking.

I don't think it looks that bad either. I agree. The humor is still great. You don't notice the CGI as much. I am too busy laughing. IF anything it adds age and makes Puss look a little more seasoned and wiser as my boyfriend put it.

It came out so quickly without much notice so it was rushed. Hopefully they put a little more time into it when they do new episodes but no matter what, I'll watch.

You can tell they cut corners by using mostly flat, prerendered backgrounds.

Looks better than the CGI on network television Saturday morning cartoons, so it's passable. Why would you expect this to be movie quality?

Yeah I agree it looks MUCH better than that. I don't think you could ask for too much better in a non-movie 3d animation!
