Are you guys actually enjoying this show?

Hate to sound like a hater but.....it's kinda "meh" if you ask me. I enjoyed Forward Unto Dawn way more. This is just slow paced and boring. The special effects seem to be done as cheaply as possible.

Locke isn't overly interesting at all and nothing about him so far has me excited to play him in Halo 5.

One of the worst parts is the under-utilization of Aiken. As an ex-Spartan his back story would be the most interesting but they've done zero with him. Locke just liked to remind him he used to be a Spartan.......ok thanks Locke.

I'm holding off my final thoughts until the series ends but I am enjoying it so far.

Again Im wondering: where did the 70 000 000 $ go ? I mean out off all options regarding the "opposing force" they must have picked up the RETARDEST option I could have imagined... I mean give a director/screenwriter a halo universe give them free hands and what would you expect - NOTHING like this. Imean the short movies during halo games... on 1-10 scale i give them 11 and for this i give -10...

Everybody has a opinion this is mine. Expected alot, got nothing... This is Wing Commander all over again. Im just praying that things will boost up... they can still recover from this but hell Im not sure. Then this poor success will lead to killing any hopes about Halo movie... who can we blame ? Not the fans or actors but... who am I to say whos to blame... make your own pick. Im going to continue praying (please dont be a idiot, please dont be a idiot, recover from this) but i fear its all for nothing.

PS: you should have given writing/directing rights for the fans... and not for a person who does not have any idea wth he is filming.

Amen to everything you said.

As a long time Halo fan and one that has read every novel I am very disappointed by the story they went with. It would have been FAR better to ax the idea of 5 episodes and just put the budget towards one 20-30 minute episode of pure awesome. With so many decisive battles in the UNSC/Covenant war they could have simply put Locke's character into one of them and we would have just seen him do some really cool stuff and been anxious to learn more and play as him in Halo 5.

I mean, if they wanted to propel him to an instantly kickass character they could have created the VERY rare instance where a marine/ODST/ONI actually saved a Spartan (due to whatever circumstances), and the person that did the saving was Locke. Would have been a big wow moment.

And for anyone that doubts it would take more than 30 minutes to do a story justice just remember it only takes just over 2 minutes to be better than all 5 episodes of Nightfall:

Apparently this cost 70.000.000 $ to make, but i fail to understand where it all went.
Because it sure wasn't the effects, or story or anything else.

It started good, with the zealot, then it crashed and became just another sci-fi.

Are you sure you are not confusing this with Halo: The Television Series?

reply

That has yet to be released. I am beginning to wonder how the production is going on it though. The last time I saw Steven Spielberg's page Halo: The Television Series was still listed under his credits as a producer though. Does anyone even know the status of production or even if it has started production yet? It's been months since any news on it and no photos have been released to the internet yet if it has started.

reply

Yes, loved it. Very thought provoking and philosophical. Not to be watched lightly as there is much below the surface.

u trolling lol

This looks like absolute garbage. I'm gonna go against my better judgment and finish the first episode but so far it looks really bad.

reply

It never gets better. As a long time fan of Halo this is a total failure IMO.

People claiming this was actually good just have fanboy goggles on. Yeah yeah everyone has different opinions, but sometimes things really are just bad.

reply

It started interesting, but when they crashed with only one small ship left for two ppl I already feared the rest would be only about the journey of dead men and so it was. Disappointing.

Now what exactly was the source of the unknown element? The worms?

The run for your life theme was already used in Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn (2012).

I didn't bother watching the last episode but the worms are the aliens that make up Hunters. Those are the really big enemies with giant shields and fuel rod cannons. If you look closely at them from the back you can sorta tell it's not one big humanoid, it's all the worms connecting together to create the humanoid shape and then armor added to them.

Can't remember the actual name of the aliens tho.

It's just a fan fiction TV series which is separate from Steven's

I watched the movie version last night. It's meh. Not bad, but nowhere near good. But I wasn't expecting much. I had no idea this existed until I found the DVD. I prefer HALO 4: FORWARD UNTO DAWN, even though that one started out kind of slow, but the last 20 minutes or so was pretty awesome.
