pedophile joke

Mom: "Did they touch you?"

Grumpy: "No, that's another Lifetime movie"

Wow, that's pretty dark for a 'kids' movie. It doesn't bother me, but still a lil weird.

Best joke of the movie...

reply

yep yep. I died of loling

While I think kids were obviously more of the target audience, the movie did get a TV PG rating. So there were the occasional somewhat adult oriented jokes.

Actually, I think the Mom's exact line was "did they do anything to you?" not "...touch you?"

But yea, they were still walkin' a pretty fine line there. I thought it was funny, thankfully it seemed to go over my kids' heads.

I thought it was hilarious, but yeah... kind of bold that they went there. I do think it was subtle enough to go over most kid's heads though.

I did not watch this with children, but did think this and a few other things in the movie might lead to some unwanted questions by children to parents. Besides what you started this thread for, there was the, "Get a room," comment. Humm... not what I would expect in a film children would want to watch.

I would not recommend or watch it again, but I was looking forward to seeing it, probably [I must admit] due to all the pre-showing publicity.

Well she is grumpy cat so... But yeah. It was definitely dark.

That got an uncomfortable laugh from me   But overall I do like how Grumpy often broke the fourth wall and was completely aware that she was in a Lifetime movie. Self-awareness saved this film from taking itself too seriously.

Hello? Cobra Bubbles? Aliens are attacking my house.

Totally agree with that. The irreverent 4th wall jokes saved this movie. I think they should do a series of MS3k grumpy cat shorts now that they established this persona.

because the imagination scene there in the middle of grumpy cat being kicked out onto the street, rounded up, put in a shelter, and then put to sleep was bright, shiny, and happy?
