So, the ending?

I'd say it's over with. The doubt was building up the entire movie, and once Dan got busted with the other chick, and with him and his job opp., in Mel's mind it was a wrap and I think she's the one more ready to move on with her life.

But something else comes to mind regarding them; while this 6 year phase of their relationship might be over, I don't think it necessarily means that possibility of the two of them being an item is TOTALLY done for. Maybe this is just what they need. Both of them have quite a bit of growing up to do, so now they'll have a year to themselves and not to have to worry about maintaining a relationship (which BOTH were beginning to lean too heavy on). If they really wanted to, after a REAL break, maybe they can get a fresh start? Or they'll really find out whether it was meant to be or not based on what they find out about themselves. Either way, it'll probably be best for the both of them in the long run.
