Who loves alien documentaries?

I watch as many as I can. So far not one has any good solid evidence but I am holding out because I really need to get off the planet ASAP. So disappointed a paragon of academics like SyFy wasn't able to crack the case.

This one was pretty frustrating, but funny. Wondering if the Southpark guys had a hand in writing it.

By some of the thought process on display here, you can look at the moon and be like "Oh my god, its covered in satellite dishes!!. They're everywhere and some hundreds of km across." They shoulda' got Tsoukalos from Ancient Aliens to say it was *beep* Atlantis. I can see him right now "Plato describes Atlantis as a city of concentric circles. Thats no saucer...it's Atlantis" gesturing with his hands.

This is an instructional video in pareidolia. You can find as many alien bases in your acoustic ceiling as you can in their photos. Even Buzz didn't seem to want to play UFO supporter in this and thats how the show was pitched. Love the way they had one scientist and kept cutting her off before she made a point. The VO guy didn't seem to hide his incredulity and kinda sounded like the guy who narrates stuff like "Worlds Most Goriest Deadliest Car Accidents"

Don't misunderstand me, I think this is all good stuff. These shows can be really entertaining and even inspire interest in legitimately cool stuff. All the conjectures on "Ancient Aliens" are absurd, but the places they show are some genuinely awesome, beautiful archeological sites. This one could get you looking at the moon, reading about solar prominences or teach some kid Buzz Aldrin isn't just some guy from Transformers 3.... Although come to think of it this documentary does kinda have the "plot" of Transformers 3. Sorry I put plot in quotes but I think that's international law when talking about Michael Bay movies.

There are some real good "bad but funny" Alien docs. I've seen some with Burgess Meredith, James Doohan, Jonathan Frakes, and a Russian one hosted by Roger Moore. I like how they sometimes cast celebrity hosts because they are on shows featuring aliens. So of course they must know all sorts of stuff about them...or in case of the Russian UFO one, It's Russia, just get us the cheapest James Bond you can find.

My favorite is Alien Interview, simply because the guy "Victor" in it is the craziest, awesomest character I have ever seen on these shows, If its fake (and I hate to even say "if" but it almost certainly is unless we've been invaded by the pretty good special effect puppets for 1994) the guy's performance is so solid and completely bonkers. He held it up in a million hour long Art Bell interview and there was a bonus video where he's wearing a Rumsfeld mask, jabbing at the camera with a back scratcher. Thats the kinda guy who knows about aliens.

It's a shame when people take these things too seriously. Although that is funny too. Admit it! And I probably should be ashamed being an audience for them myself. But they can be a fun guilty pleasure.

I love alien documentaries. I watch as many as I can on Destination America. I don't believe we are alone in the universe. And I love the inherent, over the top drama in most of these UFO documentaries and TV shows. Can't get enough of them.
