The script included a line to the effect that the mother was sixteen when she had the daughter, but even so - I think you could have swapped the roles around and it would have scarcely been less believable. The relationship jarred for me and made the whole film seem a little bit unbalanced - a younger looking 'daughter' and/or an older looking 'mother' would have helped quite a bit.

I believe there is a 4 year age difference between the two actresses and it looked like exactly that on screen to me.

The casting was a bit strange....age wise.

I'm not sure exactly when the film was made (presumably last year) but it does seem that the actress playing the mother was 30 years old in real life, while the actress playing the daughter was 26 years old.

Quite why they chose a 26 year old to play a 16 / 17 /18 year old character beggars belief? Surely there isn't a shortage of late teenage actresses in this country?
