Hey.

So am guessing in the end, Eva helped the kids cross-over to the other side, but they didn't really get rid of Isobel. When Jake stabbed Eva he only made Isobel leave her body, but not this plain. So she came back to exact revenge on all those who went against her.

Or am I wrong?

If not, they could've made it better. It's a really cliché ending to a cliché ghost movie on dead witches going on vendettas hundreds of years later after they were wrongfully/rightfully executed by the village people.

It was 9 children that crossed over with Eva plus the father.The father's spirit was there to help his son,Jake wake up so that he could stab the witch with the knife.The daughter's dead boyfriend did not cross over as he was stuck on the dark side with the witch after they were killed.However they came back through to the mortal world whence the circle was broken during the seance to say goodbye to the father.The dead boyfriend was the one who grabbed Jake in bed,same shirt and jeans.

When fighting with the witch Isobel Redwood, the witch cursed Eva's sister - "you wont see in the dark like your sister".

So now when she (Eva's sister) sees in the dark and calls for Eva, its all fake vision. She sees Eva taking the 9 plague children away - it is fake vision created by the witch. The same thing happens when she connects with Eva and talks to the comatose husband.

The witch Isobel never went away and neither did the 9 plague children. And now they are killing everyone.

Actually Eva taking the 9 children plus the husband away into the light was not a vision.That was seen by the remaining witness right after the witch was killed.It happened at the barn.Eva's sister,the mother,the daughter,and Jake all saw it.What the witch meant by her not being able to see in the dark was that she would not be able to see the witch return from the dark side.The witch knew someone would try to call on her spirit again.The witch came back through the mortal world towards the end of the seance to say goodbye to the father.The family stopped holding hands before the seance was complete thus breaking the circle allowing the witch and the soul of the dead boyfriend of the sister to come back.It was the dead boyfriend who grabbed Jake in bed.Notice that he was rather tall for a child and that he was wearing modern clothing.

I think out would have been better off they just left or as them saying goodbye to the father and letting everyone believe Eva helped the children and Isobel lost the power to kill any more kids. But it does kind of make sense if she couldn't die from the stabbing and she's the one who possessed the mom at the end. Although I'd love to know how they both died if she was in the shower and he got strangled.

I used a free movie code to rent this.It was a nice story even though it fell flat on not going into details about the history of the witches tree and the pig farm.One thing I noticed that no one on here failed to notice yet is that during both seances the circle was broken.Remember Eva said that if that were to happen that something bad could come through.That was how the witch came back.When the family was saying goodbye to the father,the wife refused to let him go while the others said goodbye and then they stopped holding hands which broke the circle.The witched snaked back through to the human world.And the person that grabbed Jake in bed was not one of the children.That was the daughter's boyfriend that was killed by the witch through Eva.Same clothes but with a sack on his head and not short like a child.9 children crossed over with Eva but not the boyfriend!

in some part of the movie, didnt one of them said that there were 10 children? not only 9?

Yes,10 children were mentioned but it looked like only 9 crossed over.I saw only 9 children cross over but one child could of been cut out of the frame.Now that I think of it,that would make sense.However even if that were the case the dead boyfriend's spirit did not cross over and he was the one that was shown at the end of the movie with the sack over his head.He was not one of the children mentioned because he was killed by the witch near the end of the movie.So whether it was 9 or 10 children really does not make a difference.Because it was not a child shown at the end but the dead boyfriend.So that means all of the children did cross over.I would just chalk it up to one being out of frame.Now that you have said that,it makes sense now.
