Disappointed

I really think Whitney is a great comedian. I hadn't heard about her until her TV show "Whitney" a couple of years ago and I thought the drama surrounding the production of the show was ridiculous. It was a funny show with dark humour and character stories in the background behind great jokes. From watching the show I searched for some of her old standup on YouTube and thought those were great as well.

But this... sad to say... sucked. I laughed once in the first half hour. Some of the jokes about women were so ridiculously stereotypical i.e. women get dressed for men, women are bitchy when they have their periods. There's often truth in comedy, and if Whitney believes any of that, then that is even more unfortunate. The rest was just okay.

I wish her show hadn't been cancelled. I am still confused as to how the show she created and writes, "2 Broke Girls" for survived cancellation because it is horrible crude jokes for shock value with canned laughter, while the show Whitney was ten times better.

I watched it and didn't laugh once. I thought there was too many close ups though. You can tell she's botox-ed herself, no lines on her face when some of those close ups should have one.

I loved it

Her sitcom audience and stand up audience are two different groups. Kind of like most comedians who are actors as well. Lmao.

Always find this funny when people rip comedians when they discover them after a show/movie. Her shows are awful but her stand up is awesome but then again I'm not her target audience for her shows.

I felt the opposite. Normally her comedy isn't very good to me, but I thought this special was the best comedy she has ever done. It was clever, funny, insightful, etc. I enjoyed it.
