The dumbing down of children's media?

The Lion King was made for the same age group as this, right? I was 6 when it came out in theaters and I LOVED it! The argument for this show being animated in the style it uses and having such simplistic writing is the age group. So what happened in the last 22 years?

Yeah,Disney Junior is making crap and they're proud of it.

Yeah, unfortunately the actual films are made for all ages to love, while the little spin-off cartoons are "just for little kids"...supposedly justifying an extreme reduction in or even a complete lack of quality. Imo The Lion Guard is one of the few things worth watching on Disney's TV channels if you aren't a little kid who'll watch anything, especially if it features the physical appearances of beloved characters. (Yet it could be much, much, muuuuuuch better.)

It's not really aimed at the same age group. Six years old would be at the top end of who Disney Junior aim their shows at, which is mainly preschool age groups. We're probably talking about 3 year olds being about the main target group here.

Did you seriously just compare a major motion picture to a Disney JUNIOR(!) TV show? Disney Junior is aimed at preschool kids. Did you ever make the effort to see the other shows on the same channel before forming an opinion?
If you want to make a comparison between then and now, look at other motion pictures. Disney does still indeed make fantastic movies for all age groups, Pixar especially.
