They want you to think it's art

A lot of times movies with absolutely dumb and mundane topics are presented as art. People (mainly the snobbish part of humanity) will easily jump on the idea and follow it. This movie is not an exception. It's dumb, it's obvious, it's basic. I couldn't even watch it till the end. You know, the love will win blah blah was presented so many times in so many forms that it became boring. God comes down to Earth in human form. Wow. Art. (NOT)

This is a work of art. All you're saying is that it's bad art. That's fine as your opinion, but even bad art is still art. I do disagree with your opinion though. It's not some great masterpiece, but it's got some funny, clever jokes and as a look at the human condition, it's occasionally moving.

If you look at main motives of the movies thare are maybe 10 of those, and if you think about it it's all been already done. So I believe your point of view is that there is no need for movies anymore?

Second thing, I don't think anyone is trying to sell this movie as art. Just because it's not USA mainstream crap, doesn't mean it's art. It's basically french comedy that is not playing on your lowest form of humour (fart jokes). You think it's aret? Poor you.

Third, please don't analyze movie that you didn't watch to the end. I don't believe it's main motive is love conquers all.

It's a Belgian comedy, there's a distinction, and even compared to what things Belgian TV comedians find funny (the forced high voices), it's well done and is easily digestible almost anywhere.

I'm not sure if I'll see this, because I loved the filmmaker's "Toto the Hero," but it's been downhill ever since for him with ever-increasing cuteness, repetition, and limited ideas he tries to render grandiose with a pretty basic "Everything connects to everything!" sense of life's oh-wowness. Some filmmakers have one great movie in them, then unfortunately just keep remaking it to diminishing effect.
