The same Angelina Jolie story line where she still follows her fathers shadow. It's so incredibly sexist. I prefure her original story, where Lara Croft is a sheltered aristocratic girl who has a near death experience in the Himalayas that inspires her to live a life of adventure.
seems like they're somewhat merging the two. the father's influence, but she also had her own journey into the near death and supernatural of the island.
While I wouldn't say that the writing in ROTTR was embarrassing or awful, just cliched and unmemorable. I played Guess the Next Line in my head pretty often, and I was right on more than a few occasions.
I mean, do we really need ANOTHER Tomb Raider story in which Lara hunts down some artifact her father previously pursued before his untimely demise at the hands of a sinister organization, only to learn a valuable lesson and about power that mortals were not meant to have? And one where she destroys said artifact for the good of humanity, but not before apologizing to the memory of her father?
It's not like we saw that in Anniversary, did we? Or in the first TR movie?
Right?
How is it i"ncredibly sexist" that she wants to follow in her father's footsteps?
Lol what a load of absolute bollocks. That basically says if a woman has anything to do with a man in any capacity and is successful then its because of the man, and therefore sexist.
Aaaand her father died again. Killed by Jacquelin Natla in the first game series, killed by Illuminati in the movie, and this time assassinated by Trinity.
Wonder how would Richard die in the next reboot. Or... wait-- the mysterious leader of Trinity did not show his face. I'm suddenly getting a crazy wild idea that he IS Richard Croft, and he'd gone Darth Vader somehow and Lara had to face off against her own father next...
