The tired attempt to be cool is the problem

If they didn't try to make their empty lives as cool then this film would have worked. It seemed like nobody in the film liked what they were doing. It seemed like they didn't even enjoy the music.

They should have made the characters real with real woes and not just wandering around like they don't have a care at all.

It's a good idea but it was filled with unreal disconnected people. Just because the music is electronic, it doesn't mean these people are different.
