Quite possibly the most egocentric thing I've ever seen.

It was like The Motorcycle Diaries, but instead of embarking on a journey to find himself only to grow as a person and help the people of the places he traveled, Beckham was so focused on how much people recognized him that he didn't even care about where he was. Every scene was all about him. There was no meaning or message to this, it was basically just an extended episode of a "reality" TV show about some rich guy roughing it. Vain, shallow "documentary".

You nailed it!
I agree completely.

I was really hoping it would be good too. Interesting premise, just poor execution. They might as well have filmed some scenes with the family, added in a ton of filler with them arguing over groceries or something and broadcast it as a "mini-series" on E! called "Meet the Beckhams".

Yep, weak sauce, and a little bit nauseating.

And he may be a great footballer, but he just doesn't have the charisma to pull this stuff off, even when it is so blatantly all about him.

...then whoa, differences...

reply

Spot on. This was absolutely pointless.
