'The Fall Guy' Episode

I was not surprised when Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley admitted they knew very little about football. I got that impression from earlier episodes. Why would they invest in a football team if they know so little about it?

Defensive coordinator Walt Housman really does appear to be hyperactive.

Arena League players really do relocate a lot. Teams sometimes move or fold. Expansion teams are created. And I assume the player contracts are short term.

I hate the Cleveland Gladiators because their owner moved the team from New Jersey to Las Vegas about six weeks before the 2003 season. They moved again to Cleveland in 2008.

The coaches weren't whistling Dixie when they said the schedule would become much more difficult.

Whose apartment were the injured KISS players watching the Iowa game on TV? That place looked very sparse.

Six points in the first half of an AFL game is pathetic.

I think NFL teams have rules against players fraternizing with cheerleaders. The L.A. KISS doesn't have that rule, but it is frowned upon. Vanessa was bad luck for kicker Kenny Spencer. What the hell did she do to him? If he kicked a football off a boat it wouldn't hit the water. Spencer looked like a real douche. His girlfriend of two years had moved with her young daughter from Spokane to support him. I think I saw a KISS cheerleader with a tattoo. I think NFL cheerleaders have to cover them up with foundation.

The late Tim Marcum was a great coach of the Tampa Storm. That guy went through kickers like they were going out of style. He would have kicked Spencer off the team at halftime.

The KISS' home field looks way too light. Is it pale gray? I am bad with colors. Even artificial turf and indoor football fields are usually dark green. The only exception I can think of is Boise State's blue home field.

I wonder how much money Gene and Paul are willing to lose with their football team. Mötley Crüe lead singer Vince Neil owns an AFL expansion team, the Las Vegas Outlaws, that will begin play in 2015. Neil has gone bankrupt at least once. I wonder if he has any idea what he is doing. Neil was also a minority owner of the AFL team the Jacksonville Sharks.

About time you dropped the Gladiator's owner screed, isn't it?
Well,about 2 years late really.
Since Dan Gilbert bought the team in 2012 and had nothing to do with them moving anywhere.
In fact,he got involved with the team to STOP anyone from moving it.

You must be an AFL fan. That's cool. I was not aware that Dan Gilbert had purchased the Gladiators. The mainstream sports media pays little attention to the Arena League. If fans want information they usually have to go looking for it.

The relationship between the kicker and the cheerleader reeks of "staged". How they show him at home with a girl and kid for no reason, then kissing a cheerleader. First, the guy knows he's on TV, and if he were steppin' out, he'd hide it better.

reply

You are absolutely right. It looked very staged. He would probably be a little more discreet if that was a real relationship.
