More like '4th and Out' *** Spoiler Alert ***

The timing of this show absolutely sucks. For those of you that may be unaware (which is probably the entire planet), the 2014 AFL regular season has ALREADY concluded and the LA Kiss went a dismal 3 and 15 finishing the season on a six game losing streak with the league's worst overall record. Maybe they're banking on the fact nobody watches the AFL to get viewers hooked!

The only thing this team lead the league in were empty seats, broken dreams and unsold Kiss merchandise, which i hear Simmons will sell to you personally whenever he has one of his discount basement sales!

It wouldn't surprise me if this franchise has already folded, i'd have to think Stanley/Simmons took a bath as well...its nice to see these self-aggrandizing clowns with their ridiculous wigs and hideous facelifts bite the bullet for a change.

Can't believe i put a *** Spoiler Alert *** warning for this piece of crap show.

You are absolutely right. I agree with you 100%. Their first game was on March 15. Their training camp was in early March and maybe late February. The first episode could have been shown in April, before they lost a lot of games.

Jon Bon Jovi got tired of losing money when he was majority owner of the Philadelphia Soul from 2004 to 2008. I can't believe he thought he was going to make a profit. It was not a secret that most Arena Football League teams did not make money. But the loses were tolerable for some owners because they had a tight salary cap. If AFL owners made a profit it was usually from reselling their team, not from generating a lot of income. Bon Jovi and his buddy John Elway were two of the AFL owners who wanted to cancel the 2009 season. After that it has been almost impossible to make money selling an AFL team.

I've always had my suspicions that the real reason the 2009 season was cancelled was because the owners both collectively and privately declared bankruptcy exonerating them from all incurred debt and allowing them to start with a clean slate the following season.

I'd be curious what your thoughts on that.

If Jon Bon Jovi and John Elway were unhappy with losing money in the AFL they could have sold their franchises to recoup some of their money. They probably lost more money by closing down in 2009. The league said they were working on a new business model. I thought they could have done that while playing the season as scheduled. They had sixteen teams at the time. Even if a couple folded they still had plenty of teams. The players were not well paid and they were willing to make concessions. Back then the minimum salary was $31,000. That isn't bad for maybe six months of work. Now the players get paid much less, but the teams are also making less money. I don't think they are making more profit. I think they said veteran quarterback J. J. Raterink was getting $800something a week and worked another job during the season. It would be nice if he could concentrate on football during the season, but money talks.

It must be nice to have a bunch of sheep called the Kiss Army that will buy anything you put in front of them.

reply

Is the KISS Army really all that? If they were the L.A. KISS would have sold a lot more tickets. I am a casual fan of the band KISS. I belong to the KISS National Guard. I am there for Gene, Paul, Peter and Ace in times of emergency.

reply

Lol I looked up the schedule myself. Ouch.

I think I would have shelved this show after that season.

The coaches throats are probably raw from yelling.

reply

Rediculous show with ridiculous comical people trying to do something out of their zone of comfort.

reply

It looks like the L.A. KISS will be back for 2015. On November 17, 2014 the Pittsburgh Power ownership group decided to cease operations, leaving the Arena League with only twelve teams.
