She can look beautiful on the big screen, but for some reason the cinematographer didn't make her look her best. For the first 3/4 of the film she looks sort of pretty in a waifish way, but no great beauty. And in the harsh light of the big audition she looks downright plain!

I suppose the idea was that she was supposed to look young and unformed until the "5 Year Later" scenes, when she should blossom into a sophisticated beauty, but somehow that didn't quite happen. The cinematographer on that film didn't really know how to make her look her best.

Yup. There's nothing particularly exotic or beautiful about her at all. A rather awkward normal girl with big eyes is all. But she's quite endearing and charming and should have a long career if she keeps taking the right roles. These artsy independent waters she's been swimming suit her perfectly.

And her acting is plain. I cannot believe Emma won the Oscar for this stupid musical over Natalie Portman's Jackie.

Portman was great, but Jackie was holy mother of CLOSE UPS, Batman!

Portman's subtle acting was ruined by the distracting not-subtle-at-all cinematography.

Eventhough I don't agree with how La La Land was praised like it's the second coming of Jesus, but Stone is the best Hollywood can get today.

I actually thought Gosling was more convincing in his role than Emma was. He did seem like a musican whereas Emma didn't seem like an actress at all even though in this role, she is an actress playing an aspiring actress.

I'm a heterosexual female but think that Emma Stone is a very beautiful woman.. she seems to be naturally beautiful rather than caking herself in an inch of makeup.
