Paul Revere - Colonial Ninja?

I never knew Paul Revere was some sort of one-man killing machine...takes out a bunch of redcoats that have him surrounded at gunpoint, kills a man by throwing a hatchet from 100 ft away while at full gallop on horseback, and then uses some MMA moves to break down another soldier who is pointing a musket at him from close range.

He was one of the leaders fighting at Bunker Hill too?

He shared a flask with George Washington after GW had a clandestine campfire meeting with Gage AFTER Bunker Hill?

Funny, he didn't look 40 yrs old either.

I'm sorry...I get tired of that excuse that shows like this are "not documentaries". No kidding! Or that old cliche that "Maybe this will spark interest in history". Really? So deliberately confusing fact with fiction due to lazy, shortcut storytelling in the name of entertainment is some sort of noble act?

Maybe 100 yrs from now, our progeny can be treated to a WWII "not a documentary" where a 30 year old, rippling muscled, sexy stubble-faced Eisenhower is the first man off the landing craft at Omaha Beach. He kills Rommel with his bare hands, lights a cigar, and through clenched teeth shouts "This f'ing beach is now OPEN!" The American soldiers (who are all Black and Hispanic) cheer and start dancing to "Louie Louie". A cross-dressing Patton hugs him and says, "Ike, you da MAN!".

Meanwhile, FDR is out at Los Alamos putting the final touches on the A-bomb he developed. In between his research and training for the Decathlon, he and a sexy, voluptuous Eleanor continue their storybook romance, dancing every night to "Lady in Red".

A young George H Bush is assigned to fly a P-51 Mustang over Japan, with explicit orders to only drop the A-bomb on a military target, but instead seeks out innocent school children and laughs maniacally as the mushroom cloud erupts. He lands back on the USS Hornet, where the all-female crew flashes him while dancing to "Any Way You Want It".

Surely such an entertaining "not a documentary" would spark interest in "history".

A very disappointing series. Fictitious History at it's worst.

As my wife and I were watching this, I kept saying "Paul Revere was a badass." It was like watching Elliot from Leverage.

Sorry. I know this was wildly inaccurate historical fiction, but I found it to be a fun romp anyway.

My wife thinks men should start dressing the way they did in the late 18th century. Those were some pretty cool-looking outfits.
