Some of the reviews...

Had me laughing. "I really went into this expecting a lot." "I had been looking forward to this for a while." "Big names, expected more." and they all give negative reviews.

You saw He-Man in the title and thought, "Damn this might be something worth my time!" Priceless.

Let's face it, it had potential, even with a minuscule budget. They had big names in it and the director is Ryan Little of Saints and Soldiers fame.

Let's be clear, what let this down was the lack of detailed writing it was so generic the bad acting in parts, the god awful music and the way they took the 'gun' out was pathetic. All too easy. Surely a gun of that size would need more than one tank shell. They kept mentioning how big it was thorough out and then they took it out with one shell. You only see the gun in about three to four shots from a distance before they destroy it with one tank shell. Lazy writing or the budget hampered the production. It made it like a comedy in parts.

It's not the worst war movie ever but I was disappointed after watching it as I'd been looking forward to it. It was slightly entertaining but it just didn't seem credible or realistic in places, like things didn't fit. It had an amateurish feel to it.

Good ole Dolph, The best part was with when He shot the German soldier during the ambush with his shotgun and he went flying back and then Dolph turned round and hit an advancing German soldier with the butt of his shotgun and shot him in the head when the soldier hit the deck!

Overall if you changed the music, sorted out the very short and easy attack on the gun that was as big or maybe bigger than one of the guns in Navarone edited it better, you might have a slightly better movie. It's was like a cross between the Guns of Navarone and a bizarre The Dirty Dozen.

Like I say entertaining enough but no where near decent. Glad I saw it for free. The Blu Ray picture quality and sound was decent. No bonus material though.

Hell yeah!!
Like, He-Man was like my favourite cartoon of, like, the 1980s, like...

I did actually like the movie, along with his portrayal of The Punisher. The scripts were both utter crap, but Dolph himself did rather well, I thought.
Same for the Luke Goss, who I always knew with his brother as the crappy 90s pop band 'Bros' - He's doing impressively well for himself these days!!

Another plus, as that and the companion films weren't bad for a small production.

Budget, most likely.
Low budget means limited writer skill and limited rewrites, as well as limited chance to reshoot scenes and get the acting delivery on the mark.
If people knew how many reshoots it can sometimes take for even some of THE biggest A-list actors to hit the money juuuuuuust right, they'd be quite surprised.

As you say, it's not a bad film... just one I don't need to ever watch again, I think.

I agree. It was corny, both the script and the music. Rigidly formulaic and probably timed to take advantage of the release of that Prad Bitt tank movie. A few of the acting performances were . . . As good as you can get with that dog of a script. Back in the old days, before broadband internet, we cranked out this crop for foreign markets and straight to video (tape, boys, VHS video tape).
