L3 ruins it

Could have been decent, without this annoying piece of cringy shit.

reply

Not really, that droid is in the film too shortly to ruin it, roughly 15 minutes.

This was likely just intended as another funny droid sidekick - here fighting for droid right - but ended up as a cynical parody played for annoyed laughs and applause when she is shot to pieces.

L3 was the coup de grâce to a franchise on its death bed.

Actually i was wondering, at points, if it isn't a mockery directed to feminism/SJW, she was absurd in many scenes.

But yeah, after a while it become really annoying ...

reply

Thats the thing though isnt it. Display someone honestly and that side will thing you are praising them while oppositing will think you are mocking them. And you wont even have to tell which is it!

reply

Agreed, although it didn't ruin the movie for me.

The idea that Lando was somehow romantically attached to it was just too ridiculous.

I'm probably in the extreme minority and one of those who actually liked L3 and found her hilarious. At this point in this sluggish movie, it needed a jolt, and to me L3 was it.

I found this to be the worst Star Wars movie out of the Disney era, and probably even worse than the Prequels. But the amusingly fussy, back-talking droids from Rogue One and Solo kind of remind me of C3PO.

reply

L3 was great!

I bet if it was voiced by Seth Mcfarlane and all it did was hurl insults you would have loved it.

reply

Spot on.

Worst Star Wars character, until they manage to top it in the next movie.
