Because really, fuck Star Wars.
I really don't give a damn about this shitty franchise and I despised everything about it and everything it represents. And I think the world would a much better place if it never been created and George Lucas and everyone else in Lucasfilm was not allowed to make movies ever.
It is interesting to think if Lucas' career had taken a different turn. If you could go back in a time machine to 1971 and turn THX 113 into a surprise box office hit (ala 2001) - and in the process launching Zootrope Studios as a successful venture, would you do it? There would probably be no Godfather or Apocalypse Now (not in their present form anyway), possibly no Star Wars or Indiana Jones, maybe not even Jaws. A very different world indeed - whether for better or worse?
