So, Tom uses his power to select the winner...

I think it is obvious that he is not a fan of Tiffany's.

reply

Funny, since he always seemed to really respect Tiffany and her cooking and kind of dislike CJ. I still can't believe CJ won...

reply

From what they showed us, Tiffany definitely should have won. CJ served them a course that consisted of nothing but a bowl of peas.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks last night decision was odd. Tom's remarks seem to change the judging all together. I just had to come here and make a comment. Tiffany obviously won two rounds while CJ won the second. I also have a critique of the other judges,of not having the resolve to stick to their own decision. Regardless of variety,if Tiffany served a bisquit in every round and nailed it,then she should have won. Period.

reply

Very odd choice. ..Tiffany clearly should have won...those must have been some phenomenal peas! Lol :)

reply

Yahhhh....way to preempt the next season of Top Chef with some controversial judging from the head judge of it, nonetheless.

reply

Not to mention, peas are a side dish not a main course. How does a side dish of peas override all of what Tiffany accomplished through out the entire dinner?

reply

This whole thing was odd. But this finale definitely seemed like some sort of payment/reward to the losers who keep coming back again and again.

To me is seemed like, if anything, he preferred Tiffany over CJ.

That was a strange decision, I'm not sure what happened? I thought Tiffany had it in the bag and then out of nowhere CJ wins? Something is fishy to me.

Maybe CJ has some pics of Tom?

Looooool ?

I didn't see any conspiracy. I saw that it was close, but I think CJ edged Tiffany out because he surprised the judges more with his choices and how better a chef he became. Tiffany cooked good but she didn't do anything out of her usual comfort zone. She did exactly what they expected and he did more than what they expected.

I remember on another cooking contest, I forget which, but a pro was cooking against an amateur and said there was more pressure because the less experienced cooks have less boundaries from protocol, less is expected of them, so they're more free and more motivated to show off. Whereas the more experienced chef is so used to pleasing critics and judges, they can fail by playing too safe when the judges are expecting them to take more risks than the amateur. I think this is what happened.
