Quality engineering: Apollo program too good successful to be true.

The Apollo program had a unbelievable success rate, if you believe NASA's official reports. Officially, they only had one near-catastrophic mission failure (Apollo 13) and a handful of scrubbed missions, most during spaceflight. I know, I know- they had the "Right Stuff" but no space program prior or after could even come near the success rate that the Apollo program claims.

From a quality engineering point-of-view is a impossibility. The link for Wikipeda:

Given the technology, protocols, and process- the program was a fallacy or heavily censored. It's just doesn't make sense. Every other NASA program is riddled full of delays, cancellations, postponed launches, and disasters.

If the Apollo missions were not a hoax, then NASA seriously need to find out what the "Right Stuff" actually was and incorporate it into their current program.

People like you are the problem. Please go live in another country. Sick of dumbasses like you ruining the USA

but liers are ruining people and country - any country.

corruption means moral and human bankruptcy, nothing good comes out of lie.
only mafia, murderers, cheaters, scum, thieves, satanists, psychopaths profit from lies

I got your Zerg right here, heh heh heh.

reply

You forgot the 3 astronauts from Apollo 1 all died in a fire while conducting tests.

reply

This would be laughable...if it wasn't so damn idiotic.

reply

whats laughable is that people actually still believe that humans landed safetly on the moon and returned to earth in one piece. Its completely ridiculous!
If you watch the NASA astronots interviews you can see it written all over their faces.. they know its a scam and they are ashamed.

reply

You have a nice day. Hell. A nice LIFE while you're at it. Okay?

reply

I almost didn't waste my time commenting since you cant even spell astronaut (or were you being punny?) I've heard this before, the lack of enthusiasm during the press conference after Apollo 11. Let me help you more clearly understand that day. After Apollo 11 splashed down and the crew recovered, they spent two days in biological containment suits while being transported to Houston. There they spent THREE week in quarantine as we were not sure about germs or disease lying dormant on the moon. The crew was led to believe that when they emerged they would get some time with their family and a chance to rest outside of a metal box. Instead NASA informed them that they were going straight to a press conference to answer questions. There was a moment where emotions got heated among the exhausted crew and NASA almost had a mutiny on their hands.. if it wasn't for the calming advise of the wives. ( I know this because my father was there as a career engineer for NASA)
The press conference and interviews you saw reflected 3 men who had been through an experience we mere mortals couldn't begin to comprehend and then locked in a metal box for nearly a month. Yea they weren't "over the moon" about having to go on stage.
They are American heroes and for you to call it a scam .. it is you who should be ashamed.

reply

Hmmm, let's see.... the astronauts were ashamed of the scam they took part in or your story.... I pick your story, which sounds 1000% more believable than the conspiracy theorist above or any other conspiracy theorist. I can't believe people walking around in 2017 still believe crap like we didn't land on the moon -- SEVERAL times. I also love the people who say the trip and landing was IMPOSSIBLE simply because they can't imagine it. Small minds of people that probably weren't even born in 1969. Ridiculous.

doesn't get astroNOT

talks about advise

do us a favor and shut it

reply

Yes I got Astro"not" as I said, and spelled a word wrong pecking away on a phone. The reply was to calling the moon landing a scam and the behavior of the Astronauts at the press conference. Give it a shot and add something intelligent to the discussion.

"we mere mortals couldn't begin to comprehend"

talk for yourself, you fvckin snob xD

cbird805, it is quite obvious that you are not an engineer of any kind.

I am a mechanical engineer, and I am working on several space program-related projects right now. Your ignorance is quite magnificent. The Apollo program is a textbook example of process development, prototyping, failure analysis - all of the things that go into the making of such a huge overarching program.

It was not perfect, but it was as perfect as it needed to be. The J-2 was so good that it is being dusted off and used as the basis for the J-2X. You wouldn't understand any of that, though.

The cold war was in full swing back in the 60's. When you have the Soviet Union one step ahead, you get the best and brightest and the determination to show them whose boss. We haven't had a real presidential leader since Kennedy. He put our money where his mouth was in saying we would be on the moon by 1969. And I'm glad he did.

The United States lost it's mojo after the 60's. Now it's all *beep* partisan politics. The Man in the High Castle is coming. Only it will be the Chinese and the Russians. I can hear the president now. "I just saw on the news that China and Russia have taken over the west and east coasts. This makes me really angry."

pffft

^Love it! The internet has almost turned stupidity into a contagious disease. Worse, stupid people breed more than the rest of us.

Amazing that there are idiots that still believe the Apollo landings were hoaxed. All of your weak spurious "arguments" have been utterly debunked. Hooray for Buzz Aldrin for decking that twit that got in his face!

But, mmurriiicaa is dumb enough to put Captain Combover in the oval office...who in turn put a 911 "truther" conspiracy theory nut in as white house strategist. Yeah...stupid is everywhere, isn't it? I really wish the killer asteroid would get here soon. Life on planet earth needs another visit from the great reset button in the sky.
