Italy desperately needs an MPAA

This film is not for kids!

I have seen all the trailers and read a lot about this film before seeing it and there is no way to understand or learn that this movie is for adults.

A friend of mine, with whom I have shared my enthusiasm for this film, went to see it with his young daughters of 8 and 12. Unfortunately he went before me otherwise I would have alerted him.

I am not prude, I can stand almost any scene and I also think there comes a time in which boys and girls have to begin to grow up and see also disturbing images or face adult material. But in no way a 8 year old should see this film! Below 14 I would strongly suggest to avoid this film.
This is something that in America would never happen!

If Italy had a serious MPAA rating, many parents would have been advised correctly. This lack of serious and correct rating by critics and distributors is really a shameful thing!

Yes, as i stated in your other post, that was a flaw. 14+ would have been correct. Anyway, from trailer one could argue that there were going to be violence, and some scenes unappropriate for kids (just as example, on the first trailer the porno Enzo was watching is clearly visible on his tv). A serious rating system is surely needed, but we should learn to do some efforts ourselves when concerning kids :)

You are right! In the first trailer there is a very brief scene that could give away that the film is for a more mature audience, and of course some violence is expected. Now, I don't remember if in the following trailers the scene is still there, but the impression I got viewing the trailers was of an action comedy. And actually it is, but much darker than what I expected.

Anyway, although a trailer doesn't always show things in the final cut (often less, sometimes more), it's better to be sure than sorry and even small or brief details should be carefully considered. I'll keep that in mind.

Nevertheless, Italy should have a real rating system, just as the MPAA, which in my opinion works just fine.

Thanks for your response :)

Italy, as any other country, quite obviously does have a "real rating system", which for your information is: T, VM 14, VM 18. Being smaller than the American one doesn't make it any "real". As for messing up with the rating for a mature film, considering it like one for all audiences, it happens everywhere. Any parent intelligent enough will watch the trailer and see if the film could be appropriate to her children - if you are in doubt, you do not take them to see it, you simply choose a 100% kid-friendly alternative! So what are you talking about?

There is a sort of MPAA but it was most likely bypassed in order to bring more people to the movie theatre...

This whole post confuses me 😮
1. Italy has it's own MPAA, it's called: Committee for the Theatrical Review and has the following ratings: T(een), VM14 (not suitable under 14) and VM18.

2. Where did you and your friend watch this movie? If it was shown in the US then shouldn't it have had it's own MPAA rating? Afaik movies are rated on an individual basis in every country because the age ratings don't transfer very well across different countries due to cultural differences and different rating criteria/categories.
