Male Genitalia and Casting

To be honest, the really transgressive part of the sex in this movie is the erect penis, which is usually reserved for porn. Noe must have known he was going to be shooting a movie that was going to be showing a lot of dick. So, how much do you think that factored into casting? Did he explicitly want a circumcised dick, was he looking for average size (like did someone come in and their dick was too big or too small), was he making sure there were no weird bends or other strange things going on.

Also was the silhouetted blowjob the main actor's dick? Felt like it was smaller than when seen in the rest of the film.

i would say he casted totally based on attractiveness of the two leads genitals and not so much talent... but why these two i don't know, i know a dozen french actors who do full nude and sex scenes who are great actors, even one of tem appears in the film for a short while

because of course thats more important then the actual discussion 😨

The size of a guy's genitalia is more noticeable to some than to others. Grammar mistakes are more noticeable to some than to others.

I realize that the word "cast" is different from most, so I can understand that if your native language is not English, it is easy to be confused. Please understand that it is more noticeable by some of us.

Well nobody really knows for sure, but I would imagine this absolutely factors into the decision when you are casting for a movie like this. Then if you consider the fact that every cock in the film was a truly fine specimen and perfectly sized and shaped, then I would say it's almost certain Gaspar Noe was casting dicks and not necessarily the actors between whose legs they were swinging.

reply

yes it matters. but more importantly why does it matter to you?

reply

It doesn't matter to me beyond curiosity on the process. Just seems like it'd be awkward auditions.

reply

I think auditions are awkward in general. You are being judged on a thousand criteria most of which you don't know. Your look, your age, your talent, any flaws they can find or the mood of the casting agent that day. This just raises to a higher level. But the feeling is the same.
