NC-17 RATING?

This flick is listed as an NC-17 rated film; my question is was it actually submitted to the MPAA for a rating or did someone just think it was beyond an R-rating so they put it in IMDB as NC-17? I collect films that are NC-17 and would like to know before investing in another one that someone on this website entered with this rating that wasn't even rated by the board. A good example of what I am referring to is all the Dario Argento films listed that were not even submitted to the MPAA, and if they were they received an R. Thanks much for your input!

With Gavin Rapp directing you'd best mark this as NW-0, this means its not watchable for anyone over the age of zero.

There's no listing either in Wikipedia OR CARA (MPAA's movie ratings website) so I guess someone may have thought this was NC-17-worthy but doesn't look like it was ever submitted for a rating. CARA doesn't appear to have even heard of this movie, and since I've been duped before into buying something listed as NC-17 on imdb (since I colled those films) don't think I'll be wasting money on this one. Especially with the absolutely horrid reviews it's received!
