John and Brooklyn *spoilers*

I don't think Doris was to blame at all for what happened between John and Brooklyn. When it comes to her motivation to do that, it was simply being drunk and obviously not even fully aware of how facebook works.

When it comes to the way Brooklyn reacted, she came to the guy's workplace to make a scene and later revealed she was feeling certain he was lying to her.
Basically any weird stranger online could have left a comment like that, and relationships are supposed to be based on trust and the ability to communicate.
If two people can't get past something silly like that, I'd say they don't really belong together and can count themselves lucky to have discovered that relatively early in the relationship.

Wrong as her actions were, Doris did John a favour. Brooklyn was cringeworthy, with her cutesy coy singing and lesbian knitting circle and excessive niceness. But her inability to trust him was the real dealbreaker.
