Danny McBride and the 2nd Season

I read a recent interview where he said the 1st season was channeling John Hughes and teen comedies. The 2nd season is channeling Brian De Palma. He of course did Scarface, Dressed to Kill and Carlito's Way. This next season should be a lot darker and bloodier I gather.

I saw that immediately when the cars were both torched like we have't even seen the half of it (you know what I mean). Next season is going to get LIT UP.

Also, I'm pretty damn positive I know who did it, or at least who the gunman is connected to but I won't say though. And I wonder about Belinda's role since she still will be around according to the episode listings. I'm only a little scared to see her true beast mode. I'm sure it's going to get all kinds of vicious.

This show.

Who do you think the gunman is?

reply

Yeah

I say it's the guy With the ponytail that Brown brought in to take notes on everyone. The shooter has long hair that was sort of kinky and this guy had long hair tied back in a ponytail.

I'm still trying to work through why I highly suspect it's the character I think storewise...it would be very interesting in their world creating....let's just say there is a lot of beefing going on in this turf warfare. I think I just read that the next season will be in the summer of 2017.... all in one go Netflix style I hope!!!!! I don't know how I can do these slow drips anymore!

*mind blown* yea I agree, I can't believe I forgot about that dude. I was so in shock from what happened and how b/a they ended it. Ballers and VPs more than made up for True Detective 2.

reply

What am I missing with Ballers... snoozefest.

reply

I think most ppl who can name the song and artist to the intro song, will probably be the target audience to BALLERS. Like my wife has zero interest, so it becomes one of "my shows" instead of "our shows."

It's actually really well written, and The Rock is surprisingly really really good. I mean, I was shocked at how well he's honed his craft over the years. Good for him, great to see him grow.

But yea man to each his own, sorry you don't like it.

Yes on Sassoon and yes on Belinda's beast mode. It's gonna be intense

reply

I think it's Blythe Sassoon

I'll be seeing you around mr gamby hmmm

Sounds awesome

Brian De Palma? Cool, hopefully that means long, single-take tracking shots and use of split-screen. And yeah, violence. As long as it remains funny, too.

There was a scene where Neal and Lee were trying to avoid the principle in the hallway which was right out of The Breakfast Club. And, unquestionably, Neal channels Vernon at times.
